My Weekend in a Picture

This is the largest drawing I have ever done. This is a slightly-larger-than-life size drawing of the superhero Green Arrow. This is more of that permissible vandalism I told you about.

That was my weekend.

No, it didn’t take the whole weekend to draw him. He took about an hour to draw, thirty minutes to trace the sketch lines with darker crayon, and another thirty minutes to start coloring him. I spend another hour this evening coloring him, but didn’t have the time to snap a picture.

But the rest of the weekend was spent thinking in the back of my mind of what else could be done to frame the big fella. Fallen enemies? Swooning women? Starbursts? Product endorsements?

Yes, I got homework done. My mother can attest to the fact that I spent this afternoon parked on the couch reading The Aenead, much to my chagrin. She was there. Ask her yourself.

But the urge to draw was a little hard to fight. Once I start a drawing, I don’t like to stop until it’s done. If I do stop….it more often than not does not get done.

This guy’s going up for a noble cause, though. Maybe that will serve as sufficient motivation.
