Standard

We’ve been together for over a decade.

Not me and my intended. Me and my sisters.

They’re not my sisters, really. But we’ve declared each other family. We made that pact twelve years ago. Unofficially.

We’ve seen each other’s ups and downs. We’ve roadtripped together. We’ve laughed together and cried together. We’ve laughed so hard that we’ve cried together.

The eldest married two years ago and has a handsome baby boy. The second eldest married last summer and is having a baby today, this very minute.

We’ve celebrated each other’s weddings together. They’ve always been family affairs. Everyone contributes somehow. This time around, one organized the wedding and kept me on track with deadlines, one made paper flowers, and one is modifying my dress.

I could not do without them. They are and always have been the best friends a girl could ask for.

And I’m so glad to call them my bridesmaids. My friends. My sisters.
